A special afternoon at Clickimin Broch

Working at No88 is incredibly rewarding, but taking time to recharge is equally important.
On one of my days off, I spent the afternoon with my Mum and my dog visiting Clickimin Broch, and it was exactly what we both needed.
We took our time exploring the ancient stone walls, chatting, laughing, and enjoying the fresh air. It reminded me how important it is to make time for the people who matter the most.
If you have never been to see the Broch, I urge you to go and visit it. Brochs are Iron Age towers only found in certain parts of Scotland. Clickimin's example is one of the best that you will find. Close your eyes for a moment, soak in the atmosphere and you can almost feel what it was like to live there over 2,000 years ago.
In Shetland, we are surrounded by beautiful places that are full of history and character. Sometimes we forget what's right on our doorstep, but days like this are a lovely reminder to slow down, take a breath, and enjoy them.
At No88, we always encourage our team to create meaningful experiences, spend time with loved ones, and get out into the community whenever they can. Many of them enjoy sports and art—whether it's rowing, netball, athletics, sailing, swimming, fishing or drawing, one or more of the team will be taking part.
Taking time to do the same in my own life helps me return to work feeling refreshed. It also reminds me to be grateful for the connections that matter.
I'm so thankful for afternoons like these with my Mum. They don't have to be anything extravagant—just spending time together, making memories, and enjoying everything our beautiful islands have to offer.
